The license

What it covers
- Five computers at a timeWindows or macOS, in any mix. When you replace a computer, release its seat from the app, or from the My computers page if the old one is gone.
- The iPhone app, freeFileporter for iPhone costs nothing and needs no key. It sends to and receives from your computers like any of your other devices.
- Activate once, then offlineA computer gets its license from our server once, when you activate it, by typing the key or by scanning a code with your phone. After that it checks the license itself, and only contacts us again if you release its seat.
- A 14-day trial firstEvery computer starts with 14 days of full use. After that, sending stops until a key is entered. Receiving never stops, so nothing already on its way to you is stranded.
- Version 1 updatesFixes and improvements in version 1 are included.
What it doesn’t
- A sixth computer at the same timeFive is the limit. A key can give back three seats in any 30 days, which covers replacing a computer but not passing one key around a fleet.
- Other peopleEach person in a household or team needs their own key. At this price, that’s the simplest place to draw the line.
- Deploying it for a companyRolling it out across a company’s machines needs a separate arrangement. Ask; the answer is probably yes.
- RedistributionThe license lets you run it. It doesn’t let you publish, resell or bundle it, or share your key.
- A promise about version 2If there’s ever a paid upgrade, it’ll be explained when it happens, and it won’t disable the version you already bought.

Mac and Windows builds are published here. The Mac build is signed and notarized; Windows is clearly labeled as an unsigned preview. The free iOS app is in App Store review.

Production activation and seat management
Existing keys activate against the live service. A key covers five computers, with seat release available in the app and on My computers.

Stripe checkout and payment webhooks
Stripe handles the one-time $1 USD payment. Signed purchase and refund webhooks have been verified in its sandbox, and the live account is enabled for payments.

Key email delivery and recovery
The key shown after payment is also emailed to the buyer. Purchase and recovery emails delivered the same key from the verified sending domain.

End-to-end payment and license verification
Checkout, key delivery, activation, computer management, duplicate payment notifications and refunds have been checked in an isolated sandbox before opening purchases.
Refunds
30 days, no questions.
If it doesn’t work for you, ask within 30 days and you’ll be refunded. You don’t need a reason, and there’s no form to fill in or anything to prove.
At this price it isn’t worth arguing about. Your email asking for the refund is enough, and it will be honored.

There’s no account to sign in to. The key is the whole of it, and these pages work from the key or the email address you paid with.
- Activate a computerIn Fileporter, open Config, paste the key into Licence and press Activate. If the key is on your phone, choose Activate with your phone and scan the code. It happens once; after it the license is checked on the computer, offline.
- Lost your keyEnter the email address you paid with and every key bought with it is sent there again.
- My computersSee which computers hold one of the key’s 5 seats, and release one that’s gone. A key can release 3 seats in any 30 days.
